Hello besties!

This review is special because I received Still Waters as an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review. This book will officially launch on December 1st.

Back Jacket Synopsis: Emelia Suneer wasn’t looking for love. She wasn't interested in anything besides getting through high school, becoming a marine biologist, and making memories with her two best friends. Preferably with as little anxiety as possible. But with the anniversary of her sister’s disappearance approaching, she knew it was unlikely.

As the end of the first day of her junior year ended Emelia was thrown into a world she only thought existed in books and movies. One where she learned she wasn’t normal and had a connection to earth’s elements, one where werewolves were real and they lived closer than she realized. But how bad could they be if they were all like him?

Emelia’s life would never be the same after meeting Nolan, the Beta of the Adolfo pack. But maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing?

Nikki’s Review: What a fun read! Even though I am an adult in my 30s I enjoy YA/young love stories. Throw in werewolves and true mates and I am all about it! This story was dialogue driven and had a fun ensemble of characters. There were many interesting plot points that kept the pace moving forward. Brandee finishes the book in a way that makes me want to read the next in the series but is also a satisfying end to the first book.

Great quotes from the book:

“Nobody had ever looked at me the way Nolan had in that moment. Looked at me like I was something extraordinarily precious.”

“Thought you could block me…huh?... It was a cute attempt, but I have been dream-walking for over a century, love. It’s going to take a lot more power than yours to keep me out.”

“Movie” Rating: PG-13 due to some cursing and sexual content.

Overall Recommendation: If you are a young adult who enjoys werewolves and fun friendship dynamics with a touch of supernatural elements- check out Still Waters!
