Where did the Vampire myth come from? Who gave them these powers? Was there a fall from Grace? He finds the answers, answers that shake his faith.

Nikki’s Review: I met Tony through our Besties Write Stuff Instagram page and he offered me a copy of Waiting for Darkness. I chose to purchase it from Amazon to show my support because I think it's really important for indie writers to buy each other's books whenever possible! Also, I am a sucker for vampire stories so this was right up my alley.

Tony describes Waiting for Darkness as a dark supernatural thriller/adventure with a splash of history and romance. He hit the nail on the head with that description. The first few chapters had dark adult themes that were not for the faint of heart. I appreciated that the content was right up front, though, because it set the tone for what was to come. Lately I have been veering away from darker themes, so *reader beware* if you are sensitive.

I found the main character, Cruz, to be a likable guy in spite of the ups and downs on his journey. There was a lot of information for the reader to learn alongside Cruz and I found the vampire lore to be unique and well thought out. The end of the story was epic and satisfying, leaving the reader wanting to know what happens in book two. Overall I enjoyed this book and am happy to have made a new indie writer friend in Tony!

Quotes from the book:

“I think you are mixing your fairytales with your myths now, old man.”

“A breed lives among us that we are unaware of. A breed of super beings that most of us would kill or kill to be.”

“Movie” Rating: R for adult content, adult themes, and strong language

Overall Recommendation: If you like vampire books with lots of action, you will enjoy Waiting for Darkness.
