*GIVEAWAY* + My Book is Coming to the Website!
I am excited to announce that my book Romance is for Other People, is coming to the Besties Write Stuff website on Valentine’s Day, 2/14/24*! The entire book is going to be released for $5 on the website along with an integrated book soundtrack! At certain points of the story, there will be Spotify mini-players** and you can play the song at the exact moment each one is to be played in the story!
The music featured in the book soundtrack will be songs exclusively by Jessica Long and her band, Jessica Long and the New Kind. Jessica Long’s first album, Painted, and her band’s EP, Geography, came out around the time I was finishing up writing and publishing Romance is for Other People, and have been linked to my book in a very special way. Best of all, Jessica Long has granted permission for me to use her music for this project!

I have always thought about releasing the book like this, and when we created the Besties Write Stuff website, with Squarespace’s website capabilities, this vision was finally able to become a reality!
To publicize this announcement, we are doing a Besties Write Stuff Newsletter Sign-Up promotion, 14 social media posts with a different tagline every February day leading up to Valentine’s, and - not one but TWO GIVEAWAYS!

Every day from February 1 to February 13, on social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook.) there will be a different Romance is for Other People tagline graphic - created lovingly on Canva by my bestie Nikki Penner! These taglines and graphics were a lot of fun to create and I’m so excited for you to see them all!

*Disclaimer: In the book itself, there are no references to Valentine’s Day. Just wanted to make that clear!
** Note: in my research about Spotify mini-players on websites/blogs, some have reported that the mini-players only play 30 seconds of the song. To start, make sure you are logged into Spotify before you begin reading the book. Even if that doesn’t work, I still think getting 30 seconds and a flavor of the song is better than nothing.
