Trip to See My Bestie Nikki in Montana!

Back in April 2024, I had the opportunity to finally fly and see my bestie Nikki! Ever since worked at the same camp in 2007 and 2009, we have been trying to visit each other and keep our friendship strong! This was my first trip to see Nikki in Montana and I was really excited to travel there. Follow me with my photo journal and relieve awesome memories!

I have a tradition of taking a picture of me at the gate sign.

Coming into Great Falls International Airport! Probably the only airport with a stuffed bear in the lobby pre-security.

Reunited and it feels so good!! :)

Our first full day was spent exploring Nikki’s new hometown, including checking out cute little library…

and Nikki’s classroom!

It was so much fun exploring around her room and imagine what it would be like to see her in the room with all her students.

We went bowling that night in a neighboring town! (That’s Elliott, Nikki’s husband in the pic). We didn’t keep score, just celebrated when we got spares or strikes…or anything really! haha

Road trip day! The following day I traveled with Nikki from her hometown to Helena, Montana’s state capital!

Our first stop was the Capital Building. It was beautiful, inside and out!

Like these stained-glass windows - gorgeous!

Then we explored the Helena Walking Mall - our first stop, the Montana Book Co., a fantastic independent bookstore. There are actually three bookstores in the shopping area, and we went in all three!

Make it stand out

The coolest place to explore besides the bookstores was the General Mercantile! Awesome design filled with all sorts of cool trinkets, teas, food and snacks.

Plus we walked by these spectacular murals!

We stayed at Nikki’s friend’s house that night and we woke up to this fantastic view!

Our last breakfast together we at Shellie’s Country Cafe! I tried the Monte Cristo dish for the first time, and I thought it was awesome!

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Back at Great Falls to say our goodbyes (you thought I was kidding about the stuffed bear in the lobby, didn’t you? haha). Nikki, thank you and Elliott so much for hosting me in April! I had a wonderful time! I can’t wait until I see you again!
